Careful intention to prioritize our client’s resources by drawing very detailed plans with specifications, that allowed HIL to pass off to the builder who then could prepare the construction schedule knowing ahead of time the amount of construction materials that would be required, sub-contractor skilled labor, and vendor lead times, that he could base his bid estimate and construction schedule accurately that best protected their budget, allowed the homeowner to spend part of their budget on the would be nice if items, rather than using it to pay for the mistakes and inconsistencies in installations that had to be later corrected that ate up all the fluff and made it so the client was only able to pay for the must have action list on their project, not a choice I’d like to make, so why should my clients have to deal with something that I could of help them prevent?

It’s all about being proactive rather than reactive. That budget goes so much further when it has been skillfully crafted and constructed in the preliminary planning process that HIL does with each client during Phase 1 of the design process. At HIL we aim to guide our clients to take an active role in the preconstruction planning process—to make them a strong partner—delivering a space for them to call once again “home” when they rest their heads.

The architect is the Quarterback of the project; without a good quarterback, the project doesn’t have an effective plan, putting out fires reactively versus proactively addressing critical issues that could arise during the project’s construction phases

It’s our goal to provide personalized, thoughtful, sustainable design + build processes while creating positive and meaningful relationships along the way. Each project starts off generally the same: a great idea + a dash of Hope = which, in theory, if everything goes as planned, turns your vision into reality.
It's the in-between part, where the sticky stuff happens, so how do you make sure to prevent that? Well, you can't; however, when you have a trusted partner and teammate on this journey with you, it's going to be way more likely that you'll have less of that sticky icky stuff as you go along. How do we make that dream a reality, it’s by having an inspired plan that produces dream results and with an incredible team of homebuilding professionals to guide you every step of the way.

It’s a trust-the-process bumper sticker moment and encompasses that if our clients can dream it, can build it mentality. When our clients come to us and hand over that budget, we consider it an honor and will do everything to teach, educate, guide, and protect them as we join them on their home-building & remodeling project journey. At HIL, we consider it the highest of honors to be selected above our competitors and even though we never let them know how much it means to us, by our commitment to the process of being transparent seeing how with communication and careful specifications, and how we create our construction drawings conserving labor time and materials, it was always HIL’s careful intention that allowed us to protect their budget, and being mindful in our communication efforts, when finally give them back their keys… they truly do feel that appreciation recharging in their new environment, where they spend so much time with friends and family… They can feel it has truly been our honor!
